With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week. Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey", died peacefully at the age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. First, they put his left leg in. And then the trouble started. Shut up. You know it's funny. |

Christmas break this year was a whirling dervish of travel. Within the span of 15 days Michelle and I had visited San Diego, Sonoma, Cottonwood (Arizona), and Palm Springs. It was an amazing time filled with lots of family, and a time I'm not soon to forget. Highlights of the trip included time-shifting Christmas (and watching people frantically run around while we relaxed in our "post-Christmas" bliss), a nefarious bear puzzle and a grandfather-in-law brandishing the controller for a Nintendo Wii. You want proof? It ain't in the pudding; it's on the photos page. |
